Karti Chidambaram is a businessman, Indian National Congress (INC) politician, and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the son of former Home and Finance Minister of India, P Chidambaram. He did his Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Texas and LLB from Cambridge University. Previously associated with his father's political activities, Chidambaram contested for the first time in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections from Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga constituency but lost to AIADMK's PR Senthilnathan. He contested again in the 2019 elections and this time, he beat BJP's Hariharan Raja to become the Lok Sabha member of Parliament from Sivaganga. He is a member of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Vice-President of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association. Chidambaram has been one of the key accused, along with his father, in multiple scams, including the INX Media case and the Aircel-Maxis scam. It is alleged that he grew business empires and amassed wealth leveraging his father's position in the Indian Government.
